I am a creative branding photographer based in Sarasota, Florida, with a heart for small businesses, honest storytelling, and images that feel like the person or brand behind them.
I believe every person and every business has a story worth telling. I also believe telling that story should feel less like a transaction and more like a conversation between people who genuinely trust each other.

Sota Creative started with a camera and a feeling I could not ignore.
I picked up a camera because I wanted to capture my kids and my dogs in a way that felt special.
At first, it was a hobby. Then it became the thing I could not put down.
After a decade of career changes, layoffs, and life repeatedly redirecting me back to the same place, I finally listened. I took the leap and built something of my own.
The name Sota Creative is a little Minnesota and a little Sarasota, exactly like me.
But the heart of this business has always been connection. I wanted to create a space where people felt comfortable enough to be themselves, where businesses could be seen with more depth, and where photos could become something more meaningful than another box to check off a marketing list.
My background in digital marketing changed the way I see photography.
When I moved into marketing and started creating content for brands and businesses, I picked the camera back up with a completely different eye. I started noticing how the right image could make someone pause, pay attention, and genuinely want to be part of what a business was building.
That was the moment everything shifted.
I realized I did not just love photography. I loved what photography could do for someone.
A strong image can communicate who you are before someone reads a single sentence. It can make your brand feel more trustworthy, more personal, and more aligned. It can help people understand the experience you create before they ever reach out.
I do not just think about whether an image is beautiful. I think about whether it works.

Fashion has always been embedded in who I am. I notice the textures, the details, the lighting, the way one outfit or one small styling choice can shift the entire feeling of an image. That eye for style and detail lives in every session I create.
And then there are my kids, my whole entire reason.
Everything I do is for them and to show them what it looks like when someone actually follows their dreams.
All of it shapes how I see people and how I capture them. I do not just show up as a photographer. I show up as a whole person, and I think that is what makes the work feel the way it does.
You can usually find me at a local coffee shop watching the morning happen, somewhere in the mountains remembering to slow down, or deep in a fashion magazine finding my next editorial inspiration.
